h2. The International Cognitive Ability Resource is a public-domain assessment tool which aims to encourage the broader assessment of cognitive abilities in social sciences research. The collaborators working on this project believe that the best way to achieve this aim is by making it easier for research scientists to employ flexible and unrestricted measures which have been well-validated against one another.
h2. We hope this site will further this aim by:
* distributing the resources which are currently available (the existing "item types")
* providing psychometric information about these resources
* encouraging researchers to develop and contribute item types for use (and validation) by others
h2. About us
h2. ICAR Item Types
At the moment, there are four item types included among the ICAR set:
[[Three-Dimensional Rotation]]
[[Letter and Number Series]]
[[Matrix Reasoning]]
[[Verbal Reasoning]]
h2. Testing Platform
[[Concerto]] is an open-source testing platform that allows users to create various online assessments, from simple surveys to complex IRT-based adaptive tests, and is used in the ICAR project. For more information about concerto please visit http://www.psychometrics.cam.ac.uk/newconcerto.
